// changelog
Everything that changed, version by version.
What arrived in each version of Kompil, which was called Orbit up to version 1.4.
Version 1.5.1latest
// Fixes
- Bug fixes.
- External connections to GitHub fixed.
Version 1.5.0
// Kompil
- Orbit is now called Kompil: app, installer, shortcuts, menus, notices and the mobile app. Anyone with Orbit installed gets the update as usual, keeping their session, keys and local copies.
- A new icon in black or white, your choice: under Settings › Appearance or from the tray icon menu.
// Security
- Messages, project code (including .env), files and images stored encrypted.
- Email confirmation by code at sign-up and Forgot password with a 6-digit code. Changing the password ends all sessions.
// Sign-in
- A new sign-in screen, with the infinity symbol forming, an eye to show the password, password strength and two-step verification.
- Welcome questions with several answers for “what you work with” and “goal”.
// AI
- AI connections in your profile: paste the key, pick a text model from your account and name it. In the agent, just choose the connection.
- Changed files in the agent, in Claude and in Copilot: the diff of each file, with Approve and Undo.
- Agent conversation history; Claude Code and VS Code Copilot Chat conversations carry on in Kompil.
// Interface and themes
- A guided tour the first time: the important part of the screen lights up with an arrow and an explanation.
- Updating on Windows shows a window with the steps until the app opens again.
- Themes apply to the whole IDE, extension views included. Themes installed from the Extensions screen (Tokyo Night, Catppuccin…) join the theme picker.
Version 1.2.1
// Fixes
- App versions 1.1.0 and 1.2.0 opened the wrong address and didn't load. If you have one of them, install this version manually.
- The web version left some pages blank.
Version 1.2.0
// Agent
- A start screen for the agent: project ideas, six starting points, the Surprise me button and three steps — you describe, the agent plans, you approve.
// Security
- Five wrong passwords (or two-step codes) in a row pause access for 5 minutes; then 15 min, 1 h, 4 h and 24 h.
- More protection against attack attempts and request floods.
// Installer
- Terms of Use and Privacy Notice (LGPD) during setup, in Portuguese.
- Digitally signed installer and executables.
Version 1.1.0
// A coding agent with your own AI key
- New Agent tab (Ctrl+Shift+A): connect your Anthropic, OpenAI, Google Gemini, OpenRouter, Groq, DeepSeek, Mistral, xAI, Ollama or any OpenAI-compatible key. The key stays encrypted in the system vault.
- The agent reads the project, creates and edits files, runs commands, commits and pushes. Every action that changes something shows the diff or the command and asks for permission.
- Four modes: ask permission, accept edits, allow everything and plan only.
// Projects on your machine
- Save to this computer: the folder syncs on every change, both ways.
- Local terminal like VS Code's, in the project folder.
- Import a folder when creating a project; with .git, the repository links itself.
- Without internet, the app opens and projects stay editable.
// Coming from VS Code and Cursor
- Extension color themes and snippets go to your account, with the theme you were using already active.
- Git with GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Gitea or any HTTPS server.
// Updates
- An Update notice in the app when a new version is out; one click downloads and installs it.
Version 1.0.0
First public release.
// Code together
- Several people edit the same file at the same time (tested with 12), with named cursors, avatars and a minimap with everyone's position.
- Line comments, a team chat linked to the code and the Activity tab.
// AI usage
- GitHub Copilot and Claude on the status bar, with account usage by model, by feature and by project.
// Account security
- Two-step verification with an authenticator app and recovery codes.
- Change the password, sign out of every other device and see the account's recent activity.
// Messages and interface
- System notifications and badges with the sender's photo.
- Editor and terminal font size, interface zoom, file icons, a customizable sidebar, split editor, multiple terminals and a command palette.
